Hybrid work, the new work reality

Surely you have heard this concept in recent months. It has nothing to do with alternation, although they share similar nuances. Hybrid work is a mixed model, with some employees returning to offices and others continuing to work from home.
This scenario is presented as a challenge for companies; especially for managers and leaders, and the areas of human talent. New ways of contracting, benefit schemes, and even experiences arise.

Figures published by Microsoft in its Labor Trends Index, focused mostly on Brazil, Argentina, Mexico and Colombia, show that 70% of Latin American workers want flexible remote work options. And in the specific case of Colombia, a survey carried out by the firm Cifras yconcepts and the Universidad del Rosario, revealed that around 55% of the population prefers to work in an alternating model, since 31% of those surveyed preferred to work totally face-to-face and 14% remain in virtuality.

There are people who no longer see the point of moving to an office, when in reality they can work from home, in a more "safe" environment, with greater comforts and with more time to share with their family or pets, or to dedicate to your favorite hobbies.
But there are some drawbacks that must be taken into account. Employees' interactions with your company are going to change, and their experiences within it may start to become less visible and less measurable. That is where the real challenge lies: involving them equally so that the organizational culture remains cohesive and the work environment is good for all parties.

Personal needs and concerns end up having an impact on each person's perceptions, and this can be altered by the lack of contact with co-workers. In addition, in working at home there is a dividing line that is diluted and does not allow separating work spaces and hours, which could become a risk for mental health.
And the new workforce? Young people who are just taking their first steps in this world, unknown to them, must generate a relationship skill that remote work is not allowing and makes it even more difficult.
Perhaps the solution is to open face-to-face work spaces, mandatory for all team members, so that they can interact with each other. For human beings, physical and visual contact has always been very important to create relationships of trust that last over time.
